Billing Capabilities on the EfficiencyTRAK Platform

EfficiencyTRAK is equipped with a comprehensive billing module that can be used to simulate billing for both site supplies and sub-metered loads. Simulated billing is available for electricity, water, gas (or any other metered fossil fuel) and also for materials where these are measured.

For site supplies, metering is installed on the site electricity incomer or main water line, as examples, and connected to the platform. A simulated bill is generated based on a time period that corresponds to the official bill, enabling comparison. Subscribers can compare simulated costs to those billed, compare usage to billed usage, assess if the correct tariff is applied and also if seasonal variations are correctly accounted for.

For sub-meters the site tariff is applied, but with an important distinction in the case of electricity – coincident demand values are determined and used for billing, making the sub-meter bills an accurate representation of their true contribution to total site costs. For all sub-metering, a reconciliation is conducted to assess individual and total sub-metered contributions and un-metered contributions. This done for all resources measured, not only electricity.

Access to billing data analysis and simulated bills is through a standard dashboard that incorporates a range of analytics. Users can see simulated bills for current and historical billing periods for main and sub-meters. In addition subscribers can see tabulated consumption and cost contributions as well as graphical representations, making for rapid analysis and the easy determination of focus areas for improvement.

The system permits the review of each individual bill and the ability to accept bills that appear to be based on sound data, formally entering them into the historical record. Where there are discrepancies these can easily be investigated by reviewing trends and the visual data grid available for every meter on the platform.
